I’m struggling to find time to blog nowadays. I’ve got Little S in my arms right now as I type away. She’s been a lucky little monkey, as she’s been to so many places lately – of one is Sultan’s Lounge at the glamorous Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in west crescent of The Palm 🙂
As you know I’m big with deals. Jumeirah has not too long ago launched a new app called Isme by Jumeirah. We got the girls together (three-generations!) for a catch up as the afternoon tea at the Sultan’s Lounge had a 241 deal. Thoughts ?
Reservations
I rang, and the staff was quick to send a confirmation later on through email. I had to make some changes later on and they accommodated these very promptly. No issues.
Food and drinks
I gotta admit, we didn’t pay too much attention to the food this time as there were so many of us and we were too busy catching up and playing with babies. I’m an awesome food blogger ay. Have a peek at what you’ll get below. Not shown in photo – scones!

Service
Not so great for big groups ( 8 adults, 3 babies – though the babies didn’t need much service from the staff 😉 ) I had to look around to find someone to serve us, and as our friends started to arrive – still no one came back to check what drinks they wanted and when. There’s me again, waving around for the staff. Wave wave wave. The afternoon tea sets did arrive promptly after though…..
Ambience
Red couches, lots of cushions, chandeliers – as you would expect in all of the Jumeirah properties 🙂 Pretty full on a Saturday afternoon with families (it was the Eid weekend). They have a beautiful outdoor terrace – though it was a bit too hot at this time of the year. I would love to return in the cooler months.

What could be better?
Other than service, I would suggest that if you wanted more value for money, to come in smaller groups, as you would get your own silver tier of food. With a big group, take note that due to the table between the many people it can only fit 4 silver afternoon tea sets (between 8 adults). They say they will refill when it’s empty – which they did, when all food from a layer was cleared – but for the ones with still a cake or two, it was never refilled. Not really their fault to be honest because it’s awkward to come and place another cake in these small pretty silver things. I just like my own tier that’s all 🙂 And I’m picky. And.. . Yeah.
What was the damage?
175.50 AED for two with the Isme by Jumeirah app 🙂 I would however recommend waiting for the cooler months and having your afternoon tea outdoors for a better experience.
Overall Thoughts
Regardless of my little complaints, as always we had a great time 🙂 Think I’ve covered most of the afternoon teas in the Jumeirah properties. There’s Palm Court in Jumeirah Beach Hotel left which I’m still thinking of going this afternoon. Oh wait, the big one.. Burj Al Arab. Care to introduce a 241 for that too, Jumeirah? 🙂
