Aromatherapy Massage @ Zen The Spa, Al Ghurair Rayhaan

I wish I could go for massages every other week. Ah…. that would be the life 🙂

Zen The Spa is located on the 5th floor of the newly-ish opened Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana Dubai. Now if you try and google Al Ghurair Rayhaan you’ll find only Arjaan on Googlemaps. Don’t worry – it’s two towers side by side.

I was a wee bit late to my appointment at 1pm today. Again, sincere apologies to Bernadette who was handling the booking! Lucky for me the next appointment was at 3pm so I managed to get a good hour for my treatment.

First off – first impressions of the hotel and spa entrance room was quite wow. We hardly (ever) cross the bridge to Deira side just because of the traffic haha. So I was a little bit sceptical but hey – it’s a new hotel so it should be good – and, it was!

Onto the treatment – I had gone for the 60-minute Aromatherapy Massage, and was taken care by the lovely Achara also known as Nikki. She went through the routine H&S queries very carefully. Then, she asked me what areas I wanted to focus on. I like it when the therapists ask you what you want. Not everyone has the same pain and want the same intensity.

The full-body massage was … again, very good 🙂 My only bit of reservation would be that I was then gently asked to sit up and robed up straight away, which was a bit too abrupt. After such a relaxing massage, normally we get to lie down for just a few more minutes and sit up in our own time. It might be that the room was due for the next client (my bad for being late, he he) – but if not, gentle note to let the clients lie in for a bit.

Relaxation room was large and spacious. Lights do need to be a wee bit dimmer. I’m a bit fan of the relaxation room in Saray Spa (Dubai Marriott in the marina) – though it’s very small, it is as what a ‘relaxation room’ should be – comfortable and cosy 🙂 I was served a nice hot pot of tea. Some nuts and fruit would be nice as an add-on as well.

My super plus was that the spa slippers are soooo soft. Haha. My favourite thus far. Funny surprise when Bernadette told me I could take it with me! Hee hee wearing it right now.

Again, all in all, happy happy. Cobone had a 99AED deal few weeks back for the 60-minutes Aromatherapy massage which would normally cost you 390 AED. If you weren’t one of the lucky few to grab the deal before it went – all spa treatment is 50% off until end of September 2013. Still good 🙂 Go try.

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
