A lot of the family brunches in Dubai have entertainment (fabulous as they may be) – that are geared towards younger children. When someone asks – what brunch shall we go with older kids, say ages 8 and above? The first spot that comes to mind is – Topgolf. Where exactly is the brunch? Their British-pub, Toad in the Hole. Best bit? My husband loves it too, and I’m sure yours will. And now your big question – why? Well well, read on.

Here’s 5 Reasons why your husband and older kids (including teenagers) would love the Toad in the Hole Saturday Brunch.

1. Hosted group games –so you can brainstorm & work together

The brunch is hosted by a game-master, so it’s very much like going to a game night, but with the family in tow. You get to name your team, and points are collected at each round and tallied up on a scoreboard for everyone to see. The kids love getting competitive as we watch our team name go up (and down) the scoreboard.

Some games require you to figure out the ‘best solution’ so you brainstorm and work together.

Some require skill and mostly luck – and this is where our older kids love it too like beer pong, minus the beer part!

And of course – there are games where you pick one person to represent the team, and for all the times that we have been – it’s always been daddy. Because, why not! Darts is a common one, and it’s good fun.

2. Topgolf Gameplay – getting active together

One of the games – is of course, gameplay at Topgolf’s bays. This is where the whole family gets to swing some clubs with a goal to get as much points as you can for the team. Daddy gets to play, and to show the kids (and mummy) what to do. Or hey – if mummy plays better – she gets to show the whole family how to do it the right way!

3. Food & Drinks, served to table – so you can sit back and relax

One of few family brunches where there is table service – so you don’t have run around the buffet getting food for everyone. Here at Toad at the Hole Brunch – starterss are all served to the Topgolf bays. You’ll get avocado salads, prawn cocktails, crispy jalapenos and cauliflower popcorn, amongst other easy-to-eat bites.

Mains are later on served to the table within the Toad in the hole pub itself. It is an english pub so expect dishes like fish & chips, crispy skin scottish salmon, steak & chips, guinnes beef cheek pie and more.

4. Access to the Kids’ Club – for more play-time

What we love about this brunch is that not only is there so much going on already within the pub and Topgolf bays itself – if the kids don’t want to be there, they can run back and forth from the Tadpole Kids’ Club. This is basically what normally happens when we do the Toad in the Hole Brunch. There’s playstation for some chill time, drawing, face painting, jenga and more and yes – it is supervised! Note that our kids are currently aged 5, 7 and 9, and if you have younger ones – you should be in there with them.

5. Easy to get in, and out – and complimentary parking!

A very important factor – for my husband at least is access to the location that we are going to. If he is going to spend more than ten minutes finding parking, khalas – we’re going somewhere else.

Topgolf is situated within Emirates Golf Club and is typically very easy to get to on a Saturday afternoon, with minimal or shall I say non-existant traffic. Parking is right in front of the building, and although you do park it yourself – we have yet to have any issues when we go there for brunch.

Overall Thoughts

Honestly – Toad in the Hole Brunch is a fabulous one for families with older kids & teenagers. It’s a good one to bring the grandparents when they are visiting too as everyone gets to play together as a family. Please let us know if you end up going to the Toad in the Hole Brunch!
