Hilton at the Palm have launched a family brunch earlier this year – and boy oh boy did they do a fabulous job. We drove to the Palm Jumeirah with the family at the end of October to review the brunch, and see what the fuss is all about. It’s been all over social media and I had a pretty good idea what to expect, but to see it in person – especially as it was their Halloween Edition. I’ll be honest – we were thoroughly impressed.
Here’s what to expect at the Imagination Brunch.
An introduction.
Where is Imagination Brunch held at?
Imagination Brunch is held in Mowsem – which is Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah’s all-day dining located on the ground level. Hand your car over to valet (yes – it’s complimentary) and as you walk in, head towards the left ‘wing’. You’ll see a queue and you’ll know you’re at the right place.
The great thing about the set up is that the kids’ arts and crafts and face-painting area is situated in the same area. This means that while you are queueing in line, the little ones can join in the fun so they won’t be moaning by your legs going “What’s taking so long?”

What sort of food do they serve at the brunch?
As Mowsem is their all-day dining – they have a extensive area for their buffet spread. Picture – a separate room for kids’ with the usual favourites – macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, sausage rolls, fries, and more.
The main buffet area reminds me a little of walking through Ikea – so much to see, and so much that you want to try. As we were there over Halloween it was an absolute spectacle, kudos to the team who have gone all out with the spooky decor. It literally felt like we were in a Halloween exhibition which so happen to come with food.

There’s the pastry section, salad bar and cheese section, and then you move around to the end where all the savouries are. Cold seafood area with oysters, prawns, smoked salmon, Live pizza station, indian curries and rice, roast chicken and beef. A little something, for everyone.

The dessert table was just beyond amazing. The first photo is their usual set-up. Swipe-right to see how was during Halloween. Not for the faint-hearted!

Any kids activities?
There is face painting and kids arts and crafts at the registration ‘area’ before you enter the main dining hall. It’s all very well set up to be honest, with mask making and colouring for those who enjoy some quiet time. My kids quite happily stayed there for a while before bringing their artwork to the table to finish it off.

What about entertainment?
The entertainment at Imagination Brunch was literally from the beginning to the end. Okay, that’s a slight exaggeration. The team did make an appearance 20 minutes into the brunch. But from 1:45pm onwards until 4:10pm it was show after show after show, with 10 minutes breaks in between. My tip? Get the kids fed within the first 45 minutes of getting to Hilton, because you’re not going to see them much after, haha! Which can be a good thing, right? You can sit back at your table, and chit chat with friends, or your other half.
Here’s a capture of the Glinda and Elphaba doing the ‘Thriller’ dance, for Halloween.

At around 2:55pm – you’ll get a science and potion show. It’s all very entertaining (even for adults) – with a little play with fire (just for a split second, don’t worry) and dry ice.

For the adults and older kids – you get a magician going from table to table to do tricks with ropes, cards and tableware. We always love these as it’s something the whole family love. We had our parents there when we went and they were properly amused as well.

See Imagination Brunch’s Entertainment Schedule here. Note that this may change.
Overall Thoughts
Good job, Hilton. You guys did a fabulous job creating your very own family brunch and I’ll give you a big pat on the back for that. Food, Entertainment, and Activities – tick, tick and tick. One to bring visiting family and friends to (my parents were so impressed with the Halloween decor) – and hey, come festive, they will deck the place all out for the season. Any suggestions? Possibly extra counters during registration so that people can get in quicker for those who don’t like to wait around in a long line . Or hey – maybe a welcome drink to keep them happy while they’re in queue? 🙂
