I remember being a new mum many years ago in Dubai. You go from working full-time and having a life that you know so well, to entering this new world of – for the most part, just you – and a newborn. If you’re lucky – you would have found friends who were transitioning into the same stage of life – together. Otherwise, it can be quite difficult.
Fortunately – there are a lot of events that have been created to bring new mums, as well as new families who have just moved to Dubai, together. Do join these events. It’s been a bit like dating isn’t it? You might click, or you might not. At least you all are going through the same ‘phase of life’ – so there is someone to talk to 🙂 And if you’re lucky – you just might find your own little community, your ‘new group of friends’ here in Dubai.
Here’s a list of clubs, and groups that are created to do just that – bring mums and families together in Dubai.
The Mum Folk

Who are they
The Mum Folk was launched in 2021 and was the first of its kind! It’s a strange time for new mums, particularly for expats – feeling lonely but never actually being alone. Women in Dubai were crying out for a group to help form meaningful and authentic social connections, pre and postnatally, and so The Mum Folk was born. They host affordable weekly play dates, regular breakfast mornings and parent education events with expert guest speakers covering topics such as weaning, sleep and toddler tantrums, all with a nanny service so you can enjoy your coffee hot and have the chance to catch up with other mums. They organise seasonal workshops, wellness events and ladies nights and provide regular reviews, recommendations, free trials, giveaways and discount codes – all making mum life that little bit easier!
Where and when are the meet ups
Daily Workouts with free nanny support, a weekly play date every Wednesday at Woo-hoo! with an incredible discount. They also have an all day offer every Thursday at Orange Wheels JVC alongside ad hoc monthly workshops and events. Detailed Schedules are shared on Instagram.

Who are they
The Mum Club Dubai was brought over to Dubai by @jojo_hartley and @that.dubai.mama specifically for connecting mums in Dubai. As the name suggests, The Mum Club is all about the mum. They recognise that whether you are just becoming a mum or have been a mum for years, we all need our mum ‘tribe’. They put on events that allow mums to purposefully meet other mums across the region – to discuss mum life and have a bit of a break with babysitters on hand to help with the little ones. The Mum Club Dubai also feature regular Pop ups and Guest Speakers from companies that benefit mum life such as supporting maternal mental health or shopping the best mum fits in Dubai!
Where and when are the meet ups
They have two regular Breakfast clubs every month : one in Arabian Ranches and one on the Palm Jumeirah. Around this, they also have sporadic events such as wellness events, mums nights outs and fitness clubs that pop up during the month. Do keep an eye out!

Mummy Facebook Groups
Sometimes the easiest way is to find mums who live in and around your neighbourhood.
Check if there is a Facebook Group for your community. These are typically private, and require the admin’s approval before you can join. Once you’re in – brave up, drop a message, say hi! Who knows – there might be a few mums who are in the same shoes as yours and would like to meet up for a walk, and have a coffee! These usually split off into smaller whatsapp groups where it’s easier to communicate and plan.
Here are a few Mummy Facebook Groups in and around the Dubai Marina Area :
We will be adding more groups to this listing in due course – please check back!
Family-friendly Restaurants with Indoor Play Areas
There are a number of restaurants and cafes in Dubai that are perfect for meeting other mums. Head over with your little ones and who knows – you might meet a like-minded mum with similar age kids to yours. Be bold, say hi. The kids are already playing together, and chances are that they live closeby as well? 🙂
