Back in January, there was a lot of bad rep of Dubai coming out from media publications overseas.
Have a look at this piece from the Daily Mail – one of many, focusing on all the influencers that were enjoying the sunshine in beach clubs and resorts.
One look and you would think that Dubai is just a place for party-goers and young, single people.
Not that there is anything wrong with them – we’ve all been young once, fallen down in front of a bar (you never?), stayed up way past our bed time 😉 What annoyed me more was how it made Dubai looked like it was just all that, and nothing more.
So here’s my little give-back to all the families living in Dubai – people who have had little ones here and stayed on.
In defense of all the bad rep that we’ve gotten overseas – here’s why we have chosen to call this place home, and what we love about our area of residence – be it temporary or not.
Next time someone sends you an article about Dubai that you don’t like, send them this. Tell them, Dubai’s a great place for families. It’s not just about the parties and the booze. There’s so much more to it than that.
