Staycation with kids @ Address Beach Resort Dubai

If you’ve been stalking following Address Beach Resort’s social media stories, you would have seen endless videos of the infinity pool itself. There is a lot of coverage of the pool, and for good reasons.

It does make you think though – is the Address Beach Resort more suited for the adults-only crowd then? Or would it be appropriate for the littles ones as well?

Here’s our take on the resort, having spent two nights – three little ones in tow.

Let’s start with the location.

Address Beach Resort is right at the edge of The Beach, JBR.

That entire area is, a very family friendly location. The boardwalk that connects the entire beach from one end to the bridge towards Bluewaters is right out front, so if you wanted to go for a stroll with the little ones – you could easily do that. You’re not confined to just the resort itself. Tip : Bring the scooters or bicycles along.

How are the rooms in Address Beach Resort?

We were booked into a Deluxe Sea View Room and I was honestly initially a bit worried that at 45 square metres, it would be too small for all 5 of us. Take note that this room allows 2 adults and 1 child between the ages of 4 and 11, which is what our family was (the other two were under 4).

Surprised to find it quite spacious, and as you can see above, the rollaway toddler bed can be placed next to the sofa which would comfortably sleep two toddlers, or one adult and a toddler or baby.

They also placed a bassinet in the room which could fit on the other side of the bed (not pictured).

So – if don’t want to splurge for a suite, the cheapest option for a family with 1 child between the ages of 4 and 11 would be the Deluxe Marina View Rooms, next would be “with balcony”. I would recommend you pick the Sea View rooms though – it’s really nice just to hang in the room with the kids and sit by the window as you can see Bluewater and the entire stretch of JBR from there. Beautiful.

How’s the Kid’s Club in Address Beach Resort?

Ultimate Summer Colour Trends Sale

We were all extremely excited to see Leizl again, having known her for many years when she was running Qix at the Address Marina. She, as with the rest of the team are all well-trained staff, and very good with the little ones.

Qix Club here is a big space, right by The Restaurant (their all-day dining) on Ground Floor. Perfect location which means you can easily drop them off after they’ve eaten (and carry on having a peaceful breakfast/lunch/dinner), and have an actual conversation with your other half. Unlike most resorts in Dubai, the entrance to Kid’s Club is actually facing the restaurant, so you can pick a table outside and your little one can literally run in and out (not that they should be doing that…hehe)

The kid’s club is very clean and the toys and books are all of really good quality – lots of Montessori wooden toys.

You are entitled 2 hours a day as an in-house guest, drop offs are for 5 and over – and it actually shuts at 9pm. So if the kids don’t want to go to bed and want to go for a play, you’re more than welcome to go back there in the evening.

Best bit? There’s a splash pad right next to it too which we spent a morning at 😉

Where’s the family pool?

The pool for families is at Ground Floor, right by the beach. The overall depth is 1.2m, and there isn’t a large shallow area for toddlers to walk around in, which was quite unfortunate – so we stayed close to the steps.

It also does get a lot of sun (stayed, April), and was lit for most of the afternoon. There are little areas that were shaded by the trees, which was where we stayed with the kids.

For a resort of this size, we did hope that there will be a shaded shallow kid’s pool somewhere in its grounds, which will come into handy when summer is properly here. Something to consider?

What’s the beach like, at Address Beach Resort?

As we are in JBR, the Address does not have a private beach. You do of course have access to all the Address sunbeds.

And food?

The Restaurant on ground floor is where you’ll have your breakfast, and as with all all-day dining restaurants, kids are welcome. Similar to the breakfast style in the other Address Hotels, you get the buffet breakfast spread and on top of them you can order dishes to the table – pictured above.

The Beach Grill by the family pool is also family-friendly and kids under 7 dine for free (hooray!) – Here is my review on The Beach Grill with kids.

If your little ones are fairly well-behaved, you can also take them between 5-9pm to Li Brasil which is a fine-dining Brazilian-Lebanese restaurant on Lobby level. Here is my review on dinner at Li Brasil.

Things that could be better?

A few things to mention – this ones for the resort :

  1. Stickers or embossed Address logos to be introduced onto the full-height glass panels – particularly where kids could potentially run into them i.e the glass door between Qix and the Ground Floor lobby. My girl did have an accident, which the team at Qix attended to afterwards – thanks.
  2. It would help if check-in staff was a little friendlier. It’s the first impression you get when you enter the hotel, so it makes a big difference for guests.
  3. Could we maybe have an outdoor playground installed, possibly at the grass lawn next to The Beach Grill? 🙂 There’s so much space for one! The closest one from the resort would be at Sheraton, which I ended up taking the 3 year old to one morning (signed in with Privilee, hah)
  4. Would be nice if there was a kid’s pool somewhere. The infinity pool is adults-only, and there is also a really large adults-only pool at the Ground Floor next to the family pool which was closed for maintenance when we were there. Probably a bit late to introduce a kid’s pool now – but it’s something to consider especially if you want families to come during the summer months. Maybe we just need more sun umbrellas around the family pool to provide shade?

Overall thoughts?

Was it a good staycation? Of course it was 😉 The kids had fun, and it helped that we had somewhere indoors to drop them off for an hour or two as well. The infinity pool was amazing for us, and it was a plus that they have good restaurants in the venue too. Definitely a place to check out for a getaway with the little ones.

Price-point?

It varies throughout the year of course, but having a peek on the website now – for a family of 2 adults and 1 child ages between 4-11, you could get a Deluxe Marina View Room including breakfast for as low as 1250 AED including tax for U by Emaar members for mid-May, and it drops to 1050 AED for mid-June (when it’s scorching hot of course, haha). Not a bad deal ay? Of course you can go right now, it’ll just be more expensive………..the weather is perfect for a staycation now, isn’t it? 😉

Disclaimer : We were guests of Address Beach Resort for the first night (or two) of our stay.
