A Chic Afternoon Tea @ Armani Lounge Dubai

It’s always a grand feeling, to hand your keys over to the Armani Hotel valet guys. I speak like I go there all the time. Not really. I wish 🙂

So I met up with the parents the other day after work, to try out the newly launched afternoon tea at Armani Lounge. It would be our first time to the lounge itself. As with the whole theme of Armani Hotel – the dimly lit lobby and monotonously coloured interiors – Armani Lounge was much the same.

Walking into the lounge…

We spent the latter half of the afternoon here – between 4-ish to 6. A few tables were occupied – with what looked like business meetings (note: It was a Sunday afternoon). I was glad I chose to leave the little ones at home with our help 🙂

Now, let’s get on with the food.

Afternoon tea was served on a 3-tiered stand, and scones to the side. Savouries include the smoked salmon with lime dill cream fraiche, slow cooked turkey ham sandwich with a hint of honey mustard and the familiar afternoon tea standard : cucumber and cream cheese sandwich.

Scones were served with a generous amount of jam (Note to team : Would suggest one set between two to avoid wastage) – I could just picture the little ones digging their fingers into it and was glad (once again) we kept the afternoon an grown-up affair 🙂 The scones themselves weren’t the best that day – they unfortunately were the ones that stuck to the roof of your mouth, bummer.

The highlight was definitely the fashion inspired desserts – the delectable chocolate stiletto, and my favourite – white chocolate cheesecake topped with a white hat. Those, we took a million photos of. The effort put into these little creations – is what gives the afternoon tea the extra points.

With drinks, you can have two – which to be honest is all you need. Something heavy to start, and a tea to finish off with the sweets. I loved the ‘A’ coffee art on our latte 🙂

My favourite

As an overall – the place felt more so business-like, maybe because it was a Sunday afternoon – and the crowd would be much different in the weekends. They do have areas for large groups where you can book out to host baby showers and the likes 🙂 I would suggest you drop by first to have a look, and see if the interior fits what you’re looking for. Armani is a little different than the other Address Hotels 🙂

On the spread itself – whilst generally good, it would have been perfect if they got the scones spot on. Scones are my favourite and typically the main factor for a good afternoon tea. Maybe because we went on the later half of the afternoon (4-6pm), and that it was prepped before 2pm? Let’s hope it’ll be perfect when you go 🙂

Afternoon Tea Tier for 2

Price-wise, afternoon tea would set you off at 185AED, or 320AED per couple. They are not in the Entertainer, so it is on the higher end if to compare with the other afternoon teas out there. The price tag comes with bragging rights of ‘I’m having afternoon tea in the Armani Hotel’ of course 🙂 Note that groups of 10 can avail to the afternoon tea for 140AED per person – that’s a good deal!

I would highly suggest you leave the naughty toddlers at home for this. Especially if you’re planning to come here on a weekday. Weekends, maybe ok – It’s up to you 😉

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
