Scotland : Where we stayed : Shantron Farm Holiday Cottage

Whilst we did day trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Luss, passing by most days to Balloch and Dumbarton where daddy was at, the highlight of the trip was simply our stay in the Shantron Farm.

The kids would be watching the ewes and lambs, we saw calves which were a day old still struggling to stand, went on a tractor with “Uncle Bobby” through the fields, watched snails crawling out when the rain came in, bees collecting pollen when the sun came out. If you are heading to Scotland and want a break from city life, would love to be amongst endless greenery, stay in a farm that has been operating since the 1700s, I highly recommend the Shantron Farm 🙂

Here’s a quick rundown of the important bits :

a) Where we found the place : Booked through booking.com, although you could liaise with them directly (Click here to website)

b) How we got there : Rented a car through carrentals.com (actual company is EasiRent), they picked us up from the airport where we did the paperwork. Shantron Farm is basically a half an hour drive from Glasgow Airport

c) Where we got our groceries from : There are a few, but we got ours from a Co-op in Balloch, just 10 mins down the road.

You can get the rest of the important bits from their website. I’ll share with you a few of the hundred photos we took from our stay 🙂

Disclaimer :  This is not a sponsored post. We found the place through booking.com and paid 765 pounds for 6 nights at the Shantron Farm – this was for 4 adults, a toddler and a baby. Note that prices may vary according to season. All thoughts are our own 🙂

Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
