Found another great ladies night in Dubai – this time, at Tesoro in Taj Dubai, Business Bay 🙂

Many thanks to Bonita for attending to my many emails prior to the night, for getting the balloons tied up, for being patient with us moving from outside to inside back to outside again (because it’s just so beautiful in your terrace!), and for prepping the cupcakes for the (other)  mom-to-be!

For those who have never been to Tesoro, this is what you’ll get on a Tuesday night, and why we loved it so much :

a) Gorgeous outdoor terrace

We’ve been to Tesoro once before but only sat indoors as it was mid-summer, and we came here for iftar. Didn’t get the chance to venture outside and lucky we got the chance to last night, before the crazy storm hit!

b) Delicious food – 50% off all full-priced ala carte menu items, or 150DHS set menu per person 

Amongst the 5 of us we ordered a selection of small plates, and mains to share. My personal favourites? The rock shrimp with spicy mayonnaise (55AED), hot garlic prawns with ginger and coriander (60AED), seafood paella (95aed), and truffle cream linguini with wild mushrooms (95aed) 🙂 The best bit was that everything on the full-priced ala-carte menu is 50% off on ladies night, hee hee. What else could be better than good food?!

c) Free-flowing espresso martinis

Yea you heard me right, free-flow! You get a selection of espresso martinis, dulce de leche (rich, creamy caramel cocktail), raspbery martinis or chocolate martinis. According to the girls it was really good 😉 Do not fret if you’re not drinking. I’m not either 🙂 Just ask them for the non-alcoholic version and they’re more than happy to serve you the same without the booze! If you get a bit sick of all the sweet stuff, water is free. Always nice to know that, especially in Dubai!

d) Good live acoustic, with Stacey Camps and Dan. 

I love good live music. I just found out that Stacey Camps is the runner up from X Factor 2006! Gosh her voice is so good. Dan as well. Here’s a sneaky video from my instagram :

And now the big question – what was the damage? 🙂 What would you expect to spend if you wanted to actually be full, not just drink up on a school night?

Amongst the 5 of us, the bill came to 310 AED. And we had leftovers which I unashamedly took home (never waste food!) And that’s really because all full priced ala carte dishes are 50% off on a ladies night. Hee hee. Isn’t it wonderful to be a girl in Dubai 🙂
