It’s Thursday, time to head for lunch 🙂

I ended up choosing Medzo in Wafi Pyramids, because of a few simple reasons :

• a) They do pre-orders, which was very critical to us lot as we don’t have a very long work lunch break (and don’t like to wait for food….)
• b) I’ve been there before, and they do good Italian
• c) It’s a 3 minute walk from where we’re at
• d) They were in the Entertainer! Score

We turned up at 12:30pm, and the food came out all within the next five minutes. Amazing.

Not only were they punctual, the food itself was absolutely delicious as well. Talk about Italian fine dining at lunch, all within an hour, and for only about 60 AED per person 😉

I was checking their website tonight and if you have a bit more time you could opt for their Lunch Specials (click here), which is 75 AED pp for a selection of antipasti to start followed by main course, and then dessert, coffee and a soft drink! Maybe I should come back here in the weekends… hmm 🙂

Here’s a lil collection of what we had :

Spaghetti Vongole 97DHS clams, white wine, garlic, parsley, onion and fresh red chili (contains alcohol)

Pizza Quattro stagioni con mozzarella e verdure miste 82dhs Eggplant, zucchini, broccoli, peppers, mushrooms, onion, mozzarella cheese, basil leaves & olives (v)

Ravioli con Osso buco – Truffle ravioli with braised veal shank and parmesan filling, artichokes and sautéed wild mushrooms

Honestly when I was first looking through the menu, I was struggling to decide as I usually go for something that was meat-heavy. Their vegetarian dishes was absolutely devine – loved their Risotto agli Asparagi – which was an asparagus risotto cooked with parmesan cheese. We had two servings of their vegetarian pizza – which had eggplant, zucchini, broccoli, peppers, mushrooms, onion, mozzarella cheese, basil leaves & olives – everything you would ever want to put on a pizza 🙂

For those who want a bit of meat, I’ll recommend their Ravioli con Osso buco  – truffle ravioli with braised veal shank and parmesan filling, artichokes and sautéed wild mushrooms. The last time I had osso buco, was back in Palazzo Squarcualupi in Tuscany (click here to read). Aww, memories. 

They also do Salami Pizza as well, and with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, fontina cheese, taggiasche olives & fresh basil – it gives just enough that little spicyness to put a smile to your face over lunch. Good pizza.

So there you go, definitely a spot to go to over lunch if you work in the area, especially if you have the Entertainer. Otherwise splurge a little more if you have time as well, as you’ll have a good feast with 75AED 🙂
