Skydiving Indoors @ iFLY Dubai

At first I was thinking, how fun can it really be, getting blown up in a wind tunnel. Plus it’s a bit of a road trip from the marina to Mirdiff City Centre on a Friday morning (well, technically just 30km… but still.. it’s a weekend you know 😉 ). But we figured, let’s do it. So off we went!

From signing in, getting briefed, changed and then our turns, all in all was about an hour. It was so much fun  – we wished we had more time to master it better and do flips and what not that the instructor was showing us 😉 It definitely wasn’t as intense as the real deal, and definitely not as scary jumping into a wind tunnel compared to jumping out of a plane above Queenstown at 12000 feet. But yeah, something really fun to do if you get bored of shopping indoors 😀

The good bit is kids can go too, and I think they will absolutely love it 🙂 See rules above, 3 years old minimum! And it’s something mum and dad will enjoy too. I don’t think you can both go in at the same time. G and I had our turns each.

With the First Time Flyers Standard (220AED) – you get 2 flights each, each lasting about a minute. The first one is just getting used to it, as you get into the right position with your instructor guiding you the entire time.

The second time you get blown all the way up the tunnel, this bit is so cool. Of course the instructor is with you the whole time.

You can use the Entertainer with this so it works out to be 2 for 1, not too bad ay 😉 Go with the kids! Or your mates!

Here’s a short snippet of G in the wind tunnel

  • First Time Flyers Standard – 220 AED ( 2 for 1 with the Entertainer )
  • Park at : South Entrance, Mirdiff City Centre
  • No, you can’t bring your own camera into the wind tunnel, but you can purchase the photos afterwards and there is an Entertainer 2 for 1 in there as well for the USB stick

Disclaimer : I was a guest of iFLY Dubai. And as we always say, all opinions are my own. If it was bad, I wouldn’t write about it 😀

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
