Our beach suite getaway @ Sofitel Dubai The Palm

Why don’t we have a bathtub in our bedroom?

Now if your wife asks you this, an easy way to make her happy is to take her to a Beach Suite in Sofitel the Palm 🙂

So, picture this.

The bellboy takes you to your suite and you try your best to keep calm when the doors open. You put on the ‘you stay in rooms like these, all the time ‘ face..

He goes,” Do you need anything else? “

You politely say “Thanks but nah, we’re good.” when you really mean ” Get out, get out, I want to jump onto the bed already! ” 😀

That was us this weekend 😉

And this is what I’m talking about, and how the rest of the weekend went :

a) The Size

Our suite was a  large, 85 square metres of what felt like a mini apartment minus the kitchen. King size bed in the bedroom, with sliding doors to the bathroom and separate lounge.

b) White Stone Bathtub in Suite

Right in the middle was a circular white stone bathtub, where you can sink away with bubbles (pun intended). Separate walk-in rain shower room as well for a proper clean-up after a dip in the pool or sea…

c) In its own area

The beach suites are situated in their own area, with floor to ceiling foliage wall and lounge. So pretty, It’s right next to the pools and beach so it’s easy access. You have your own balcony with couches and separate tables for 4…

d) Next to the Beach

Walk out, and you’re at Sofitel’s private beach, even with its own lil hairdresser area if you wanted to get a shave or trim. Facebook-worthy, ha ha.

e) Family friendly Pools

f) Fine dining Restaurants

Overall Thoughts

All in all, a perfect summer staycation worth doing.

Now if you don’t want to splurge out for a room, Sofitel is offering a deal right now where you can pay 150AED for pool and beach access day pass and redeem 100AED for lunch. You’ll need to purchase the pass from Sofitel itself on the day, and although the pool is open to use at 8am, the day pass is only valid from 9am onwards, and is valid weekdays and weekends. Kids under 5 years of age enters for free, all others pay 150AED per person. We were at the pool on both Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings… I can tell you that it gets crazy packed in the afternoons so if you have very small children, get there at 9am so you can hopefully get the cabanas as well 🙂 There are a lot of shallow areas that are kid friendly. For this one, call +971 44 55 56 56 to make sure they have availability.

And if you want to splurge for a night, the prices are I think quite reasonable right now. Check it out on their website, you can get a Beach Suite for about 1500AED including brekky in Manava the next morning 😉

I’m on the hunt of other summer staycations before the prices rocket back up for peak season ay. Let me know if you do book yourself in!

Setbacks : Checking-in and out might take some time. I think Sofitel needs a bigger reception area, as we had only ended up checking into our room at 5pm for a 3pm check-in. I do emphatize with hotel staff, as we could see that they were struggling to keep everyone happy. Please be patient if you do go.

Disclaimer : We were guests of Sofitel The Palm to review the hotel. All thoughts are our own, though it is entirely up to you to judge.

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
