Just look at that. Tell me where else in Dubai can you find another terrace lounge that looks anything similar, and I’m there 🙂
Few weeks ago we were invited to a media preview of VII, a bar nestled on the 7th floor of the Conrad Hotel. One of the things I love about Dubai bars and restaurants alike is there is just so many out there that it becomes somewhat a competition to make each interior bolder and stronger than the other. It needs to leave a mark, it needs to make people go ‘Wow, that’s beautiful. Gotta tell my friends about this.’
Two striking bits that got me :
a) The falling-down-the-rabbithole alleyway
As you walk through it, it gives the illusion that you’re Alice, and you’re on your way to something amazing. Hang on, there should a bar to the theme of Alice in Wonderland, shouldn’t it ? Wait wait, let’s get back on track here ……
Just be careful as you leave the bar, as the step down is almost invisible as you’re blinded by the spotlights from the ground 😉
b) The magical foliage canopy
Don’t tell me this doesn’t make you go wow. Chatting with the crew from Katch, apparently this will be transformed every season. Come Christmas it’ll be mistletoes and snow. I can’t wait 🙂 But hey, it’s beautiful as it is right now.

I went back last week for another cosy media get-together, and thank goodness for the outdoor airconditioning system, it is actually quite comfortable outside. They will cover it up soon to keep it cool, and to make sure your hours of make up doesn’t melt.

August 2015 Update : Vii has launched their ladies nights every Tuesdays called EnVii at the Greenhouse where they get two complimentary drinks of their choice. Whoop whoop! See you there!
