Why didn’t anybody ever tell me about Grand Hyatt?
Everybody goes on about ladies night deals in the marina and downtown, but you very seldom get chatter of those on the other side. Hands up, I am one of the guilty ones who tend to be lazy and stay on the marina side of town on a schoolnight and weekend 😉
However, when an old friend got in touch recently about the newly launched ladies night at Grand Hyatt, and mum was here – I thought, why not 🙂
When we went outside, we found our way through what seemed like a carefully manicured ‘forest’ with waterways all over. Mum loved it. “So green”, she said to me. Finally we got to the pool bar, gently lit with fairylights entangled amongst the bushes, and the pool alongside giving you the complete ‘on-holiday’ feel. “Blue-vibes”, ay? 😉
It was fairly empty when we got there before 7pm, but it wasn’t soon after that the place was buzzing, full-house. Not a single spare chair to be found.

The deal on Wednesday is 50% off the ala carte menu, and 4 drinks. And you can choose from a menu of white, red, rose and guess what, even beer! They have 4 selection of cocktails – and properly made ones as well with a good amount of alcohol in it, hee hee (rubs hands in glee). You gotta try the peach colada. Do not fret if you’re the sober driver, they have mocktails as well – strawberry fizz and “Beat the heat” – lol, concoction of black current tea, raspberry and lemon juice.
Back onto food, I thought Pool Bar’s menu is extremely reasonably priced. The most expensive meal would be king prawns, at 105AED and with the 50% off you get it for half the price. Not too bad ay? 😉
Mum and I were stuffed from the king prawns and grilled salmon (70AED) when the staff took out a whole selection of samples. We tried their wagyu beef burgers, which I do recommend.
We managed to save some space for dessert, and you must order their new york cheese cake at 40AED, where you pay just 20AED! Now please tell me where in Dubai can I order a homemade cheese cake for 20AED? With such a perfect setting as well?

I recommend it as an after-work get together with the girls as the deal is really good. Especially with the perfect weather now. And if you have guests in town as well, I’m sure they’ll be impressed. My mum was 🙂

The Hyatt hotels are usually nice, but the distance from the Marina has discouraged me from going, even though the ladies’ night sounds like a really good deal. I’ve also heard a lot of nice things about the Singaporean restaurant at Grand Hyatt, I think it’s called Peppercrab?
Yeah, it is far ay. Good thing is it’s right by my work!
I’ve heard about Peppercrab as well, also never been! On my to-do list 🙂
