I sent an email on the 25th of January 2013, to the Dubai Marriott Harbour & Suites, asking them if they had any Ladies Night. They had then replied to say unfortunately not, but they do have Happy Hour, which we have been to so many times in the last two years 🙂

What a nice surprise when I saw a promo post on my FB wall, from Ah Lan that the Observatory would be (finally) be doing Ladies Nights every Monday, and that it would be a ‘guilt-free’, low calories one! 😀

We rounded a few friends, and turned up on the dot at 8pm last night. Talk about over-eager……. and did we have a good night? Definitely! 🙂

Here’s what you’ll get, from 8pm-11pm, every Monday on the 52nd floor of the Marriott.

a) Canapes, for 50 calories or less

I’ll be honest I only tried the eggplant roulade with sumac, and crispy spice chicken…because we just had a huge dinner before heading across the road. Eggplant…mm, not my cup of tea, but the chicken was yum 🙂 There were a lot of choices, Thai beef with lemon grass, baby beets with fresh mozzarella cheese, orange and basil….. all laid out so pretty! Was kinda hoping that they would bring out some desserts after hehehe (talk about high-expectations!)…. maybe you guys can add that to the menu, please please? Some guilt-free cupcakes? 😀

b) 3 cocktails from the Ladies Night menu.

Loved the Tropic (pineapple, vodka, midori), and Pomme & Passion (gin, apple, litchi!). The large red ones with watermelon chunks were too watery by the time we got to it, so it wasn’t the best (Hint hint, don’t put too much ice next time 😉 )

Use LILONE15 for 15% off your total bill at Organic Foods & Cafe!

c) Gorgeous views of the marina and The Palm

A bit of a wow for those who has never been there, but we have the same view at home (he he he, don’t hit me). Click here for a previous post from the Observatory which snapshots of the view. O yea, and my blog header 😀

d) Buzzing atmosphere

We stupidly chose the table right in front of the speakers, so we were screaming at each other all night. So I suggest that you don’t do that. That aside, it was packed last night ay. I’m sure it’ll be too from now on. Well, we’ll definitely be there every so often, especially since it’s a 2-minutes walk from home! If I’m really lazy I just might take the bicycle….

So there you go. Guilt-free ladies night at The Observatory. Finally! With the spread that they’ve got, Embassy… I think you’ve got competition now. Smart of them to host it on a Monday though… as there isn’t all that many ladies nights around in the area. I love that they’ve tried to do something different with the low calorie thing, especially with everyone so health-conscious nowadays!

Special mention to the beautiful hostess Sandha with those hot black glasses, and all the many staff who took care of the group of 6 last night. Cheers 🙂 See you next Monday.

  1. and I for one loved the Ladies Dream!

So happy to discover your blog. It is awesome! I can stay here back reading for years hihi.

If your table were in front, I had a girl crush that night on that table and she was wearing this lovely emarald green dress. i checked Ahlan and Timeout and its such a shame they don’t have a photo of her because I thought she was utterly gorgeous and the best dressed that night.

The image stuck to me because when I rode the cab home, she walked across the road with a handsome guy in arm. And i sigh, what a lovely dress…and an even lovelier skin!

if you happen to know her, tell she is a vision.
