You probably know what hot yoga is. I used to go to the one in Newmarket (Auckland), just a 5 minutes walk from work. The feeling of walking into a 40degrees heated room to do yoga when it’s freezing outside is actually, really nice. You sweat your arse off and then you feel completely cleansed 🙂

Now, imagine that it’s 33 degrees at 7:00 pm. Humidity is around 65%. The water, is even warmer. All excited to catch some baby waves, we headed down to The Beach in JBR. I step in, and it feels like when you’ve started a warm bubble bath at home. I sink in, and omg, it’s so warm. Close your eyes and you think you’re in your bathtub, lol. Hello, summer. You are finally here.

Surprisingly I manage to catch quite a few waves this evening, straight till pass 8:00 pm. Possibly looking quite lame hehehehe, as I think i was the only one with a board. The Bodyglove board I bought from AJ for 20NZD that has been through the giant waves in Muriwai, aww. Good times 😉

Now can someone tell me where I can catch some decent waves in Dubai? I’ve done some googling and sites say Sunset Beach, is that the Open beach next to Burj Al Arab? The one you drive through from Al Thanya?

Guess I’ll just have to make do with ‘hot bodyboarding’ for the next few months ay, hehe.

Friday 6th June update

Seriously looking for keen body boarders around the marina.

According to swellmap.com, there was a swell on Thursday, waves went up to 1.6m peak at Sunset Beach, I was so excited 😀 As we had already booked Fogo Vivo with the lot, I had to just be patient, have a good evening out and wait till Friday morning to hit the beach. Hehe. Waves dropped to about 1.2m in JBR and I spent 2 hours there from mid-day. Happy 🙂 But was the only boarder!

I’m surprised it wasn’t packed with surfers/boarders on Friday ay, maybe they were all at Sunset Beach?? We went back again on Saturday and it was calm as 🙁
