Positano Evening Brunch @ JW Marriott Marquis

Last Sunday, we went to Positano at JW Marriott Marquis for some fine italian buffet. It was literally 4-days of super pigging out with M being here, haha.

Positano’s located on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Last time we were here was nearly a year ago now when we stayed for 2 nights when it was newly opened. I don’t think Positano was open then, so we were pretty excited to check it out.

Every Sunday they do a Italian buffet for 180AED per person. We weren’t too sure what to expect, but was quite impressed with the spread.

I’ll say this – it’s not exactly big in quantity but, it’s high in quality. I’ll let the photos do the talking 🙂

Fresh meat – a selection of beef, lamb, lobster (!!), tiger prawns, salmon, and sea bass. Grilled to your liking. The lobster was so sweet. M absolutely loved it.

20140216_190103 You get to choose the pizza you want, and they do it for you at the spot as well. Try the “Positano” pizza. Delicious. G ordered the salmon asparagus, also good. Mm 🙂

20140216_195800 M had two bowls of this. Seafood soup, you tell them what you want to put in it and they prepare it for you!

20140216_205037I was quite impressed with the dessert room. A lot of buffet places do very basic dessert, a.k.a mousse this mousse that. There was a huge selection of dessert and we went crazy snapping away photos in there, hahaha. Try the tiramisu. Rose balls. They had the most immaculately cut fruits I’ve ever seen. Fresh bowls of raspberries and blackberries. Quality.

We were served by a few that evening. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the staff that took care of us, other than the fact that he was from Nepal, and was very attentive. At some times a little overly attentive, haha – but we figured this was probably because it was a very new restaurant so I’m not going start complaining 😉

The main thing was that M was super happy with the food, and overly happy with the service as well. M happy = I’m happy. For the price and what we get in Dubai, I think this is top of my list when it comes to buffet. Sometimes I feel some place are just too big, too messy, and not top in quality. This was small, but very, good. I’ll go back again – can you do it on weekends please? 🙂

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
