Urbano @ Souk Al Bahar

Love Entertainer Vouchers.

So I went to Dubai Mall to meet up with mum after work today. Decided on dinner at Urbano as it was the first restaurant that popped up when I was scanning through the Ent Dubai book.

We got there before 7 so it was pretty empty at the terrace at first. Asked if we could get the tables next to the balustrades but was politely told it was strictly for 4. Boo. Least the 2-people tables still had great views, so I just sat down instead of starting a fight, hee hee.

Initial impression of service wasn’t good. It felt like, because they were so busy, and they had the best spot for fountain views, there wasn’t much emphasis on good service. I was later on served by the lovely Abdul, which changed our minds 🙂 Maybe he could tell that I was getting a bit irritated 😉

Food was, great. I’m usually not a big fan of having pasta outside. It’s always too oily, too cheesy, too salty, just too much of something. Our seafood pasta (Pasta gamberi e funghi) was just, right 🙂

We ordered the chicken pizza as well, which came so much bigger than we had thought. I had to takeaway 3/4 of it.

Dinner for two, with cup of English Breakfast, came to 92 AED. Not too bad with A+ views of the fountains ay 🙂 Cheers to Entertainer vouchers, great mid-week meal with mum. Left happy, credits to Abdul though. If it weren’t for him I’ll still be bitchin’ about service here 😀

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.

    1. Good point, haha! Actually, why don’t they? Other restaurant/bars in Souk Al Bahar does, so surely they would have the license to, hmm.
