En Vogue Beauty Center @ Al Fattan Towers

O dear, I just went to read the reviews on Yadig and most of it was pretty bad ay. I guess I was the one of the few that was lucky?! (Thank God!)
Weeks ago I bought one of those 99 AED all-inclusive Cobone vouchers. I’ve bought one of these before for a random salon at Mirdif (Morning Glory Health Club & Spa) – and it wasn’t the best of experiences. So you’re probably asking me why did I do it again? 😉 Can’t think of a better answer than – maybe I’m just cheap (and always keen to try new things!). Hahahaha.

Anyways, it was 99AED for “full hair colour”, hair cut & blow dry, classic mani-pedi, and eyebrow treading. Here’s how my experience went.

I was half an hour late for my 11am appointment, but they were really cool about it, probably because they were so busy already anyways. Tip : Make an early reservation i.e before noon. Any later and you’re bound to wait for ages. After waiting for 10 minutes, they popped me onto the chair and I was served a nice hot cup of tea.

I think it was Anna who did my nails. Tell you what, I’ve been to just a handful of mani pedi’s in Dubai over my short 1 year here and she was probably the best of the lot. N Style – Dubai Mall (so-so), La Bella Hair Lounge – Millenium Plaza Hotel (not good), Fluid Spa and Salon (okay), and even Armani Spa! The funny thing is – you pay such a cheap price so you expect a classic mani pedi to be just a ‘classic’ mani pedi. She actually gave me an arm and hand massage, filed my heels very thoroughly, gave my feet a good rub/massage, cut my cuticles very neatly, and, they use OPI! 99AED for just this would be considered cheap! Anna did the proper base coat, colour, and top coat thing as well. Very happy with the end result, and super happy I got my poor heels filed as well, haha.

Ultimate Summer Colour Trends Sale

Okay moving onto the hair part which you’re probably more interested in.

The voucher did say that it was only inclusive of hair up till mid-back length so don’t complain if they say they’ll charge for the extra. I was happy to pay for the extra – and you know what, they did a really good job. Hair cut was great, just as I had requested, and they blew dry my hair to light curls at the bottom as well. (Sorry no photo, unless I pixelate my face but that will just be dumb)

I walked out feeling a million bucks!

So I don’t know – maybe I was just lucky to get the good mani/pedicure lady. The hairdresser wasn’t the friendliest looking girl but she did her job well, so I’m happy.

My advice – next time this thing comes on Cobone and you’re thinking of buying it – go ahead, just remember to

Use LILONE15 for 15% off your total bill at Organic Foods & Cafe!

  • a) Book for an early appointment
  • b) Print your voucher before you go
  • c) Get Anna to be do your mani/pedi ( I hope I got the right name!)
  • d) Explain to your hairdresser exactly what you want, and don’t look away when she’s doing her job. It’s your head, your hair -if you don’t like what you see you can tell her to stop or change what she’s doing.
  • e) Understand that you will be paying quite a lot more if you have really long hair

Good luck!

    1. Hehe I like! I had a munted toe as well but they made it look ‘presentable’, lol.

Btw I see you’re blogging again! Just read your post! 🙂

  1. Didn’t realise En Vogue got bad reviews and I wonder why? I go there maybe once every 2 months and always have a positive experience. Nails are usually average, but for a fab hair job, go with Chris! He’s the best. 🙂

    1. Hey, just popped over to your blog, nice to see more bloggers in the neighbourhood 🙂

Yea, check out the Yadig link, lots of people have complaints ay. Pretty serious ones as well. Guess we’re the lucky lot!

  2. My name is Anna.My husband is a loyal customer of their man part in Dubai Marina branch.
Once I visited their venue and was not happy with the service and ambiance.I decided to give that place one more chance.
I had a cobone voucher which includes hair colouring and lowlights.I did not need these services.I understand that as per the policy the services cannot be exchanged, but I did not see any assistance from the side of the staff.I wanted to change it for hilights, even paying extra. But I was said no.
Besides I had an appointment at 19.30 and I had to wait till 20.20,despite the fact that I have a small baby.As per terms and conditions I understand that I have to be treated on time as well.I left the place without having my services done.I asked the manager to give proof that I haven’t had treatment by signing my voucher. He refused. And didn’t even come to me,forget about apologizing. Is this the way customers should be treated????
Besides, their staff, including manager,Mr Muneer, argue between them in front of clients.
They have lost one more customer and I will never recommend their place to anybody.
This is service area and there should be understanding as rules are created by people.
Later, when I decided to give my vocuher to afriend, it turned out that in the system they have out it as used!!!!!!!!!!!! I left the place without having my service done plus I lose the voucher!
The ownwer of the company,Mr.Jalal is never answering the emails and seems to be ignoring everything!!!!!!!!!

    1. That sounds horrible.

Suggest you leave a review on Yadig.com as well as most users go there to read on the place before they go. It’s good to get it out there so other people know! I guess I was fortunate to have a good experience but I can totally understand where you’re coming from as I have had horrendous experiences before – read my blog post on Clessidra Med Spa!

I did wonder then what we can possibly do when things like this happen. We can write reviews, blog about it. We could write to Radio stations, TV stations, other social media like Facebook and Twitter. But is there a bigger company that takes care of things like this I wonder?

  3. To the Manager of En Vogue Salon: I just want to express my very bad experience on 27th Sept at 5PM. I realy felt dissapointed! rather than to freak our in front of your customer but instead I still keep calm until I step out from your Salon. I still have that respect and hope your staff should also respect their customer.Ive been working in Dubai for almost 10 years in hospitality industry and we focussed always on the guest satisfaction. Even though I bought the voucher in Cobone for only AED 99 it doesn’t mean the service is not the same with the rest of your customer whose paying more than me. I suggest you should give full attention to your first time customers ‘coz we are the ones who promote your Salon and Service. The ‘words of mouth’ is very important. The reason I bought and tried your Salon because I was satisfied with the Spa service in the other building. Always remember that not all people will buy for your product but for service just like me.
Just to make the story short, I bought a voucher in cobone saying hair colour and one of your staff approched me I believe he was your supervisor, he’s male jordanian, most of the time he was the one who explain to customer for hair colour, hair extension, etc.You can ask that filipina lady who did my gilesh manicure at 5:30PM on 27th Sept. I was entertained 30 mins late than my booking schedule and entertain first who came after me. I was served for only 1 and a half hour for hair colour, hair cut, blow dry and gilesh manicure. They did fast and no full attention. After the blow I felt lost since nobody assist of who will do the shoulder massage as part of the package. I know I’m paying cheap price but all I want to emphasize here is to clear your cobone advertisement, if you say hair colour we supposed to choose the color we want unless you mention ‘selected colour only’ I felf so bad because they have told me to pay if I want brunette color or something like burgundy. I am speaking in behalf of everyone who will buy this kind of promotion to be very extra carefull. I have no problem of paying extra but since my first impression was gone I don’t think so I will come back and introduce your Salon to my friends. Thank you anyway! -Jessa

    1. Jessa,

O no – doesn’t sound like a good experience at all! Sorry to hear about that. I don’t know how likely it is that the manager of En Vogue will read this – I suggest you leave the same review on Yadig and attempt to email En Vogue directly as well. Sometimes these vouchers can be a gamble isn’t it 🙁

  4. this place is really terrible, rude human being al around. if i am not wrong they been trained to be rude with their cusotmers bcos genarally people in this world are not so rude.

  5. This place is a joke and so are their services especially if you have bought a voucher. The first time I came here they said they could not offer one of the services as they dint have enough staff. The second time the exact same thing happened… This place is a rip off… The shoulder massage was exactly for 45 seconds. Avoid at any cost!

    1. O dear. Looks like I was the only person out of 500 that had a good experience here isn’t it. Don’t think I’ll be going back there anymore! It’ll be good if there is a company that can do crackdowns on things like this. In NZ we used to have a show called Target that does it! I wonder if Dubai has something similar!

  6. One of the worst places you can find in Dubai! The Manger is a liar to the core. Please avoid ANY DISCUSSIONS (and definitely, don’t trust him to resolve any issues. He is a VERY BIASED PERSON!).. You can visit them if either you are desperate or want to be treated like a ‘SECOND CLASS CITIZEN’! And, Oh not to forget- The front desk philipinas are so full of themselves that you think you are watching some ‘MODELS’ on the ramp 🙂 For me it is, “GOOD RIDDENS OF BAD RUBBISH’!! And, honestly if I can give one piece of sincere advise- “PLEASE DONT FALL PREY TO THEIR PACKAGES AND DEF. NOT THE MEMBERSHIP.” The minute you buy it, they will stop booking you in for appointments, act pricey and make you feel very unwelcome. If you have any dignity and self-respect, this place is NOT FOR YOU. An honest opinion from a British Solicitor.
