Radisson Blu Hotel @ Yas Island

Not too bad for a sandstorm weekend ay! Hehehe!

This has been a getaway that we had been planning on and off for months. To Amish whom took care of our reservations and numerous ‘changes’ – Thanks for your patience and understanding!

So Friday morning we drove down to Yas, and was checked into a nice room on the 5th floor. The photo above was taken from our balcony – not too bad ay 🙂

I’ll be honest with you, we’ve stayed in a few random hotels in the Gulf and for the price that you pay at Radisson Yas Island, it’s pretty good. Standard rooms start at 399 DHS, up to 599 DHS for Business Class room with breakfast included. The rooms are spacious, large corridor leading to the main area, bathrooms are standard but clean and enough.

You could always opt for Rocco Forte which is the first hotel as you get into AD, or one of the few near Aloft which we’ve stayed in as well. I suggest you stay at Yas to get away from the traffic, so you can still do the touristy things like Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World, swim, relax and play golf 🙂

Anyways, back to Radisson!

Tummy’s rumbling, we went down to Assymetri for the Friday brunch. It was quite a basic brunch, enough to keep us full and my cheeks pink and us happy, lol. We then went to the Executive lounge on the 8th floor to chill out. Similar to the one at Muscat, they served food and around 6pm, out came the alcoholic beverages! It’s crazy how spoilt you can get in these lounges (or U.A.E in general) isn’t it !!

Friday late evening, after we came home from our feast at 18degrees, we wandered outside around the pool and then suddenly realized we were at another hotel. We didn’t know that they were all inter-linked. How nice is that!

Saturday morning, I went down for a quick morning swim. The pool (above) was big (not as massive as the ones in St Regis of course he he), though the sandstorm was just picking up when I jumped in so I didn’t stay in there for too long. I did think that it would have been a bit more convenient if they had a separate walkway for guests going to and fro from the pool than through the main lobby. So if you saw this girl wrapped in a robe on Saturday morning walking pass the front lobby to the lifts, that was me, haha. *Shy*

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. Definitely a hotel I recommend you stay if you’re looking for a random getaway from Dubai without breaking your wallet. If you want to pay (quite a lot) more, then opt for St Regis at the Saadiyat Island!

And to end the post, here’s a snapshot of the sandstorm as we were driving back to Dubai….(zombie music in the background… hehehe)

Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
