Dinner at The Hunter’s @ Westin, Mina Seyahi

Didn’t do the food justice with my lousy camera skills. Sorry! 😉

A girl friend was in town and I hadn’t planned anything. Opened up the HSBC Ent Book and thought I’ll choose something that’s nearby and nice. Saw the Hunters Room & Grill and thought – why not? I hadn’t been to the Westin before, ha!

The roadworks in front of the Westin is still a mess. I really hope they get it done soon, whatever they’re doing. You need to get to the right side of the road, and it’s actually quite confusing which one is the entry because there are quite a few before it and if you miss that one entry, you’re screwed. You need to go alllll the way down, do a u-ey, and try again, haha. It’s terrible!

Anyways thank goodness for valet parking in hotels in Dubai. I love that. We found The Hunter’s quite easily and hmm – the interior is quite – just, alright I’ll say. Nice enough. As it’s a steak place, they have quite a variety to choose from. Prices start from 165AED for a 190gram Tendorloin, and all the others are around 295AED.

Honestly speaking, 295AED is pretty expensive for a steak. That’s 100NZD, a-lot-of-money. Sometimes I feel that as long as you buy a nice cut from the supermarket, and you know how to cook it right – thats all you need. Then again I’m not a steak connoisseur haha – just a simple anybody who likes food, lol.

I ordered the Lamb, and SC had the Tenderloin. We also ordered 3 sides for 85AED. As with most fine dining restaurants, The Hunter’s provided bread and butter before the meal. It was actually really good. We finished the basket. Haha – two girls and we actually ate all the bread. Maybe we were just very, hungry.

We were then served one of those pre-dinners appetisers thing compliments of the chef. It was watermelony …………thing. HAHA. Sorry. I don’t know what it was. Yum though.

The nice touch with The Hunter’s is, they actually came to us with this tray table and placed a whole tray of knives for us to choose from. Damn I should’ve taken a photo of that. I thought that was so cool (or is this just normal of steakhouses in Dubai? Lol!)

When the mains came, I was quite surprised. Mine was quite a lot. See photos above. Nice presentation – and my medium-cooked lamb was per-fect. I struggled to finish the whole thing. And I think we were a little ambitious with ordering 3 sides haha!

We couldn’t fit desert but maybe next time I’ll pass on the sides and get desert instead. If you’re a steak person, give this place a shot. ‘ll need to drag G here later on 🙂

  1. I love your blog!!! I’ve been reading your posts, and you have always mentioned the HSBC entertainer book. Is that the same with The Entertainer in bookstores? You’ve been having some great time while saving a lot because of the coupons! I love discounts too, but I usually get deals from websites. I’m planning to buy an Entertainer book next year though! =)

  2. Aw, not often I get a comment haha – happy! 🙂 Thanks!

The Entertainer is different to the HSBC Entertainer book ay. We were gonna buy it when we first came here but it was something like 300 or 350AED, we thought that was quite expensive ha ha.

The HSBC book came free when we signed up with HSBC UAE. So for every credit card you have with them, you get a book. If you applied for a supplementary card for your spouse/family members, you get another book. There’s actually a lot of other discounts that you can get with HSBC or Mastercard. Lol sounds like I’m working for them or something.

Btw you should sign up with Sirius card as well (it’s free). They always have promotions, like during summer they had 3course meals for 150AED in certain Jumeirah restaurants and 200AED for the super fancy ones in Al Qasr. I can go on and on… hee hee

    1. Thanks for the advices! I’ll definitely get a Sirius card. I’ve heard about it before when we dined at Arboretum. I’m dying to have dinner at Pier Chic, so I must sign up for one soon. 🙂 I’m looking forward to your new posts.

      1. Maybe wait for the next Jumeirah Restaurant Week (if you are patient enough) for Pierchic hehe! Hey I see you blog as well, will have a peek later on 😀

      2. Yup I do. I’m actually a part of that expat-blog thing and I saw your blog in there… then I got hooked. hahaha! we have the same interests, love to spoil myself too! 🙂
