It’s quite funny how I was bitchin’ about Emirates just a few days ago (click here), and next thing I know I ended up on Business Class on the way home to Dubai. It’s like someone heard my complaints and was trying to make it up to me for the bad experience, haha. Long story short, I had to extend my stay at Manila, but there were no more Economy Flights left until 5 nights later. Work had to put me on Business home. Hee hee, happy happy!

Ninoy Aquino International Airport is definitely not one of the best airports in the world. I won’t blog about it, because there’s enough reviews online for you to know how it’s like. Good thing with Business Class is you get to have some rest at the Lounge near Gate 9 prior to boarding. Again, the lounge, like the rest of the airport, isn’t super either. But hey, at least it’s some where you can go online to send some messages, and there’s some food and drinks!

You get a special area for Business Class people at the boarding room, which helps a LOT at Ninoy Aquino. There’s basically not enough seats for everyone onboard and I could see a whole lot of familes just standing behind. Felt quite bad for them ay, but I mean, couldn’t do much 🙁

Now, onto Business Class onboard Emirates Airlines, Dubai-bound from Manila. Heh heh – luxury indeed 🙂 The chairs are spacious, with brown/wood-like looking finishes around your big tv screen and windows. You get a little bag for sock/shoes and eyepatch. You even get a slot to place your shoes so you can change into these cute socks, haha.

Legspace is ample, more than enough for someone my height. Happy. Before takeoff, they serve you hot towels, and, champagne/wine/any alcohol or juice. Pretty cool.

Soon after you get peanuts and not in those little packets. It’s on A plate, and it’s not just normal peanuts – you get macadamia, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, the whole lot, haha!

I won’t talk too much about the entertainment system. I don’t think there’s much difference in the choice you get in Business compared to Economy. It’s good enough as it is. The plus side is, instead of the control you normally get in Economy, there’s this little touch screen (separate thing) that you can use, so you don’t have to stretch forward to press the screen in front (yes, it’s actually far enough that you need to move in front).

Now when the food came I was really impressed. You get a few choices for appetiser, mains, and dessert. I’ve put the menu in the photos so you can see what they are, hehe. The best bit is that they actually place a little table mat on your tray, and then serve you on plates. Hot, plates. And proper, stainless steel cutlery. Food was good 🙂

If you want drinks, you can choose anything. I thought I’ll spoil with a nice class of white. It was so yum. I have no idea how much a bottle would cost but if I can find it in the shops, I’m gonna get it 🙂

Now the chair! Hah! Did you know that it’s also a massage chair? Crazy ay. I didn’t use it for that but I was just amazed. You can adjust it any way you want, and when you wanna sleep, it’s perfectly horizontal. Oh wait wait, I forgot to tell you – they actually come and ask you if you want an extra layer of mattress to place on the chair. Extra comfort 🙂

I guess the thing that tips the scale (to any restaurant/bar/hotel/airline) is service. Service, service, service. Emirates has definitely trained their staff well. I felt ‘taken care of’ 🙂

Upon landing they give you a ‘Fast Track’ ticket for us so we get out faster. I didn’t find that it was any difference if you had your E-gate card. So tip to all – get your E-gate.

I think my ticket was about 200USD more than the same flight for Economy. I think it’s usually quite a bit more – I’m not sure? I’ll find out next time I need to fly long-haul! 🙂

Pretty good and worth the money I’ll say. I highly recommend you to consider Business Class on Emirates next time you have a long-haul flight. It’s worth every penny.
