Milk and Honey Immersion @ Saray Spa

And just when you thought milk and honey couldn’t taste any better….. 🙂

This blog is probably for all the ladies out there, and the few men who are into pampering themselves, or would like to get a gift for their lovely wives.

About a week ago I won a whole bunch of stuff, one of which included a 500AED voucher for a spa. I had booked this amongst all the rest from spagenie.ae because it seemed the most ‘interesting’. There’s just so many spas on the website, and for a noob in Dubai it was really difficult for me to choose ‘the right one’. I saw ‘Milk and Honey Immersion’ and I thought… hmm, yum 🙂

Saray Spa is located at the HC level in Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites in the marina, a close walk from the new Torch Tower. Upon entry you’re welcomed by the hotel personnel, reminding yourself again of Dubai’s high hospitality standards. I was told that I could use the health club facilities before the treatment so I got there a good hour early. You’re given a key to a locker containing towels, bathrobes and toiletries. I got on with the whole warm shower -> steam -> jacuzzi -> cold shower routine, taking the opportunity relax prior to treatment. I did take a peek at the pool outside, but trust me, you don’t want to be under the sun at 1pm at this time of the year. Well, not me anyways 😉

And haha, now the exciting part!

Around 2pm I was ushered to the waiting room, where they serve you a nice hot pot of fruit tea and some almonds and apricots. The waiting room is of warm decor, dimly lit with candles and lights, just to make you feel comfy and at ease. After filling in the standard forms of ‘Are you allergic to anything etc’, I’m sent into the treatment room.

Sorry girls, no more photos of actual treatment itself, haha. I will try my very best to describe it to you in my own words (+ the actual description on the website 😉 )

The lady begins with a gentle exfoliation of oatmeal and Black Seed oil supposedly to stimulate your skin cells. When I read this on the website, I was kind of imagining to myself – oatmeal? black seed oil? Hmm, okay. Interesting. Now she was actually really strong, and it felt like a massage + exfoliation. It was really good. And this was a full body exfoliation….

After that, she mixes this warm bowl of milk, honey and rose oil and begins to pour it in bits over your arms, body, and legs, whilst massaging. Website says it is for ‘profound relaxation and serenity’and I’ll say they were right. For a moment I felt like I smelt like pancakes on a Sunday morning. Haha.

Milk and Honey’s natural enzymes will gently wash away the worries of time promoting a healthy glow and appearance.

And wait, it’s not over yet! Afterwards she wraps you up in the towel for a few minutes, you get up to shower to wash all that yummy stuff off yourself and you jump back onto the treatment table. She comes back in, and begins the hot stone massage dipped in Rose Oil……

Lemme tell you, after all of that, which is approximately 90minutes or more, you’re in complete bliss. Your body is completely relaxed, your mind is clear, and you smell like rose oil. Yummy 🙂

So this is what I’ll call a good review, where I’ll highly recommend any girl to go and do this. I am sure there are a million other spas in Dubai and as a noob, I don’t know what this ‘rank’ in ‘Dubai standards’, but personally it is 5stars 😉

Cost price is AED400, which is about NZD130. I think for what you get, it’s worth every penny. I’m not sure where you can get vouchers for Saray Spa, but after your first visit you might get 25% discounts for returning guests. Go try it!

Dubai resident. Stays most of the time in the marina as she can't be bothered going anywhere else after work and in the weekends. Originally from the land of the orang utans, spent the latter half of her life in the land down under. Always on the look out for deals, loves organising get-togethers, and occasionally steals some time for a sip of wine or four at ladies nights.
